On our last day, we cruised down Lake Zurich to Fischer’s Fritz’, an urban campground just outside Zurich boasting cushy glamping tents and a tasty restaurant. I loved being able to escape city life for some time on the water — it was such a wonderful experience.
There are so many things to do at Fischer’s Fritz’, including camping, dining, wake-boarding, paddle-boarding, and just enjoying the view. I even spotted a sand volleyball court! You can pitch your own tent or rent one of their 10 ft safari tents. Tastefully decorated and featuring wooden floors and a full-size bed, you’ll feel right at home.
We spent a few hours on the lake, as my fellow travel companions wake-boarded, and I watched in amazement as they rode the waves so effortlessly. The sun glistened over the water, and the breeze swept through my hair. Even if you’re not wake-boarding, hanging out on the boat and gazing out at the coastline looking at all the houses is a soothing and serene experience.
The restaurant located just walking distance from the campsite delivers delicious meals, including fresh-caught fish. Our evening ended with a beautiful sunset, making wonderful lasting memories on Lake Zurich.
