There is no shortage of spots for beautiful views in Zurich. On my short trip, I discovered some great places where you can relax and enjoy a brilliant panoramic view of Zurich. Whether you want to catch a sunrise or sunset or just spend the afternoon reading and people watching, these are some great spots to check out while in Zurich.
GROSSMUNSTER TOWER | Grossmünsterplatz 8001 Zurich // For 4 CHF, you can walk up 200 or so narrow uneven stairs to get to the top of the cathedral in Old Town Zurich. At the top, you can see a perfect view of St. Peterskirche Clock as well as Zurich Lake.
UETLIBERG | 8143 Uetliberg // Zurich’s own mountain and the tallest spot for an epic 360º view of the city. On a clear day, you can see the city, the lakes and the alps! It costs 2 CHF to reach the top of the watch tower. Those who are afraid of heights might want to skip this portion.
CLOUDS BAR | Maagpl. 5, 8005 Zürich // Want a drink to go with that view? Check out the top of Cloud Bar where you’ll have a magnificent view of Zurich’s city center and lake. The bar also has an adjacent restaurant if you get hungry!
LIDENHOF SQUARE | Lindenhof, 8001 // They say all of the alleys in the heart of Zurich lead to Lindenhof Square. This flat top spot is a great meeting space or place to read and relax. From the square, you can see a view of Old Town, Grossmünster Church, City Hall, and the river.
POLYTERRASSE – ZURICH UNIVERSITY | Polyterrasse 8001 // Take the short polybahn ride up to Zurich University for another great view of the city. There was an adorable coffee truck at the top, but I arrived before they were open unfortunately. Would be a great spot to grab your morning coffee–just be sure to check times before going!
Have you been to Zurich? Are there any other spots I’m missing?
