a few weeks ago jonathan lo and i had lunch over at east borough. it’s located in the camp at costa mesa a hipster spot with a few cute shops and eateries like umami burger. east borough always caught my attention for a modern hip outdoor space eatery that serves vietnamese food, say what? i admit i was a bit skeptical, but i was pleasantly surprised. jonathan ordered this pho + bahn mi combo and i ordered the spring rolls and the special of the day a braised pork belly with rice and egg combo. the spring roll was good but the braised pork hit the spot and really made my heart so happy. filled with flavor and i loved the texture of the jasmine rice – definitely my type of comfort food!
