if there is one thing i wish long beach had more of is great food so i was excited when simmzy’s a hip new restaurant opened up in long beach. i’ve made a few attempts to eat there but it has always been jammed pack but last weekend i planned ahead and went early. all of us really enjoyed our meal, we ordered brussel sprouts for the table, the daily special which was a deconstructed chicken pot pie {a table favorite}, spice and vinegar pulled pork panino, and i got the burget with bacon sans bread. everything was super tasty, and i’ll definitely be back again {hopefully the crowd won’t be as crazy…or they start taking some reservations…} if you’re in the area, it is definitely worth checking out – and if you’re not into waiting they also have another location in manhattan beach.
oh! and don’t think we left without trying BOTH desserts a chocolate s’mores pudding and apple filled donut topped with vanilla ice cream. our table was torn between which one was the favorite, i loved the pudding part of the s’mores but could have skipped the marshmallowy part. either way everything was delightful!
