although i’ve been to san diego several times now, and i’ve been given lots of food recommendations for the city – i always find myself back at whisknladle. this time sarah and i decided to try their sister restaurant prepkitchen. we headed down to the la jolla location for lunch. the restaurant small but absolutely charming, with a covered patio as well as a small indoor communal dining area.
i ordered the beet, tangerine, goat cheese & avocado salad – sounds weird right? nope freaken amazing. sarah ordered the winter squash panini, squash, gruyere, quince mostarda, pear & fried sage – as soon as we took a bite we kept talking about how we could whip up our own salad version of this delightful panini.
