everyone knows i’ll travel for food, but i hardly ever explore my own backyard. at last cafe is only a few miles away from my house, and i’ve heard raves about the brick chicken from james. friday night – sarah and i headed over to try the famous brick chicken and mac n’cheese with ham. the chicken was tender and juicy but i wished the skin was crispy like aframe’s beer can chicken, but still delicious. our favorite was definitely the mac n’cheese though, cheesy but not overly cheesy, and the chunks ham was the perfect touch. for dessert we ordered orangeade cheesecake [definitely recommended!] and strawberry shortcake [will pass next time]. overall a good meal in my backyard.
